Eastern Connecticut State University


 

Eastern Connecticut State University seeks to fill the position of
Vice-President for Student Affairs.  The Vice-President provides
oversight and leadership for all matters relating to the general social,
cultural, health, welfare, and retention of students and is charged with
administering the following student affairs functions: student center
and activities, residential life, career services, health services and
counseling services, women's center, intercultural center, accessibility
services, orientation, student government, judicial and international
student services.  The Vice President reports directly to the President
of the University.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  Earned doctorate required along with a minimum of five
years of significant experience in a college or university at the senior
management level in areas of student affairs.  The successful candidate
must also provide evidence of leadership ability, high ethical values,
a commitment to strategic planning in a collegial environment,
commitment to a multi cultural campus, strong interpersonal,
problem-solving, and management skills.

 

Eastern Connecticut State University is a public liberal arts
institution characterized by an increasingly residential population, an
innovative undergraduate program, and dynamic programs of professional
preparation.  The university serves a diverse population of
approximately 5,200 full and part-time students in a rural environment
east of Hartford and midway between New York City and Boston.

 

Rank and salary are dependent on qualifications.  Excellent fringe

Eastern Connecticut State University, Connecticut's public liberal arts
university invites applications for the position of INFORMATION
SPECIALIST

 

Responsibilities:  The position reports to the Associate CIO and
provides technical and functional support (including training) in the
area of report writing, using Hyperion BI software or other tools as
appropriate. Additional duties include the role of application
administrator responsible for maintaining and upgrading the Hyperion
software running on Linux servers.

 

Qualifications:  Bachelor degree; demonstrated proficiency in use of
Hyperion BI software or other SQL based report writing tool, JavaScript,
Microsoft Office Suite products, development and implementation of
electronic databases, HTML, and similar tools;  ability to train faculty
and staff in the use of computer software and demonstrated ability to
work collaboratively with a wide variety of people.  Previous experience
with Oracle and an extensive knowledge of the SunGard Banner database
structure preferred; prior exposure to Linux server administration an
asset. These qualifications may be waived for individuals with
appropriate alternate experience.
